How Does Couples Counselling Work?

Supportive couples therapy to improve communication,

rebuild trust, and deepen your connection.

Rebuild trust. Improve communication. Deepen your connection.

Every relationship has its challenges. Whether you're navigating ongoing conflict, feeling distant from one another, or simply want to strengthen your bond, couples therapy offers a supportive space to explore your relationship together. Doing so with care, curiosity, and honesty.

You may be at a crisis point, or perhaps you're seeking preventative support to keep your relationship healthy and thriving. Whatever has brought you here, you're not alone, and help is available.

Why choose couples therapy

It’s normal to struggle at times in a relationship. Life stress, miscommunication, unmet needs, or unresolved hurts can all take their toll over time. In couples therapy, we work together to:

  • Improve communication and active listening

  • Rebuild trust after betrayal or disconnection

  • Resolve recurring conflicts or misunderstandings

  • Deepen emotional intimacy and connection

  • Navigate major life changes (parenthood, loss, moving, etc.)

  • Create healthier boundaries and shared goals

Together, we create a space where both partners feel heard and blame is replaced by understanding to allow new ways of relating to begin to take shape.

A supportive, neutral space for both of you

As a couples therapist I offer a non-judgmental and balanced space where both voices matter equally. My role is to ensure you both feel supported in the relationship, not to take sides, by exploring what’s happening between you with compassion and clarity.

Whether you're in a long-term marriage or a newer partnership, couples therapy can help you reconnect with the love and respect that brought you together in the first place.

What to expect

In our first session, we’ll begin by understanding what brings you both to therapy and what you’re hoping to achieve. We’ll look at current challenges, communication patterns, and emotional dynamics to create space for new conversations to emerge.

Sessions are 90 minutes long and can take place in-person at my Norwich therapy room or online, depending on your needs. All work is completely confidential.

Invest in your relationship

Couples therapy is an investment not just in resolving problems, but in building a stronger, more fulfilling connection for the future.

If you're ready to take that next step, please get in touch to book an initial session or ask any questions. I’d be glad to help.

Your relationship matters. Let’s work together to help it grow.

We don’t see things as they are,
we see them as we are.
